Miley Cyrus Says She Is A Role Model For Young People, Clarifies Her 'Party Girl' Image

Despite the controversies she has landed in, Miley Cyrus believes she is a real role model for the youth. The “Wrecking Ball” singer said that half of what people assumes she does, such as partying and trashing hotel rooms, are untrue.
On a recent visit to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the former “Hannah Montana” star gave her time and effort to interact with the young adults there. She also told Cameron Mathison of “Good Morning America” that she believes herself as a role model for youth. “I can actually say I am for what I know of what is important to teach people -- and what is important to teach people is that … you can't judge other people,” she explained.
Cyrus also said that her celebrity status should be utilised in helping others. She said that since all that she does is noticed and given attention, she just might as well say something on behalf of those who “feel like they have no voice.”
The singer also added that half of the things that people believe she engages in are not true. “I'm not the way that people try to make me seem … I don't go around just trashing hotel rooms and partying, that I'm actually working on, you know, music that I love and being involved in things that I love,” she said.
Her new campaign for MAC Viva Glam line and Grammy nomination for “Bangerz” proves how serious she is about things she feels passionate for. All the proceeds of the MAC Viva Glam campaign would go to helping those suffering from HIV/AIDS and Miley is proud that she’s part of it. In her recent interview with E News, she shared that while she’s happy that she could join the ranks of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Nicki Minaj, who were Viva Glam girls themselves among other celebrities, she’s especially excited to become the top endorser of the line. She wants to be able to sell the most number of lipsticks to girls.
When it comes to her Grammy nomination on the other hand, the young singer and actress said she is not expecting to win at all. However, being nominated already made her feel “stoked.”
