The first full trailer of “The Last Kingdom” season 2 has been released online. The video shows Uhtred like new before. The show promises more blood and action, as the protagonist goes on a journey of vengeance. The following article contains minor spoilers from the first season.

Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) promises vengeance on those who murdered his family in the first trailer [see below]. Beocca (Ian Hart), who always has the best interests of the young warrior at heart, advices against vengeance. The priest explains how such a course of action will not bring peace, but only death.

There are several scenes in the trailer where Uhtred’s face is covered in blood. There are also some exciting action sequences featured in the trailer. The fans can expect massive battles, and the customary village raids. One of the scenes also shows the shield wall, which the protagonist taught the Saxon army in the first season.

What is perhaps most interesting is a sea voyage. Uhtred can be seen rowing in what looks like a Viking long boat. So, there could be some exciting special effects in “The Last Kingdom” season 2 that the fans can look forward to, especially the storm in the sea sequence.

In his quest for vengeance, Uhtred will be joined by his brother Ragnar (Tobias Santelmann). The Dane has been itching to fight against the people responsible for his father’s death.

Ragnar trusts his brother, and even helped him on one occasion. Their main aim right now is to bring the killers of their family to justice. Perhaps Beocca knows Uhtred best. In the trailer he explains how the young warrior is “more than one man,” and that he is “here for a reason.”

There will be new enemies to fight in new locations, and perhaps a few more betrayals along the way. In the video Uhtred can be seen promising never to forget or forgive. The protagonist can be seen at the head of an army in one of the scenes, making his way out of a war ravaged town.

There will also be some hot sex scenes, but it will not be Brida (Emily Cox) with Uhtred this year. There will also be new characters joining the show, so the fans can expect interesting storylines.

“The Last Kingdom” season 2 will premiere on BBC Two on March 16. The show can be watched on Netflix in Australia.
