With the current mess that she is involved in, actress Kristen Stewart may be set to just throw herself into working hard after reportedly beating "The Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence in bagging a new major film role.

The "Snow White and The Huntsman" actress is currently at the center of a media storm after being photographed cheating on heartthrob boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson. Despite getting criticized by almost everyone, Kristen Stewart may still have a little luck left when it comes to her career for it is said that she had landed a part in the upcoming gritty film "Lie Down In The Darkness."

The film is based on the 1951 novel of the same name by author William Styron and it tells the story of a woman that tries to escape her dysfunctional home life in 1950s Virginia.

According to reports, actress Jennifer Lawrence was also being considered for the role. In the past, Lawrence has always been vocal about her enthusiasm to portray the role of Peyton Loftis in director Scott Cooper's film. "The Hunger Games" actress even admitted to W magazine that she was obsessed with the role.

"I have this feeling of protectiveness over characters I want to play. I worry about them if someone else gets the part, I'm afraid they won't do it right or they'll make the character a victim or they'll make her a villain or they'll just get it wrong somehow," Lawrence said.

Jennifer Lawrence is currently tied up with other filming commitments which include a "Hunger Games" sequel that will start filming in the autumn and the upcoming "X-Men: First Class 2" that begins production in January 2013.

As for Kristen Stewart, the actress may have been crushed to the ground after her cheating scandal but this new movie role can be a chance in disguise for her to prove herself right to the public once more. Will Kristen Stewart be able to pull it off with this new movie role?
