For the first time, baby North West went far from her place for a good, responsible, and emotional cause. Kim Kardashian takes North West to Oklahoma to pay their respects to Portwood Williams Sr., Kanye's grandfather. Portwood Williams Sr. passed away on August 10, a fortnight after his 98th birthday.

"That's why they weren't at Kylie's birthday. They bought North too. Her first trip." reported People magazine, stating how Kim and Kanye wanted to attend the funeral and also introduce their daughter to other members of West's family. Kanye West's Granfather , 97-year-old Portwood Williams Sr., talks about his time when he met Kanye and Kim Kardashian at his home in Oklahoma City.

"She is beautiful - and she's just as sweet as she is beautiful - and that's what I liked about her!" said Portwood Williams Sr when he was still alive.

"She was just down to earth, she's rich, and those kinds of people, they've got everything," added Williams, an expert of Oklahoma's civil rights sit-ins of the 1950's who helped integrate lunch counters.

But he also said he "couldn't care less" if West weds the visibly pregnant Kim, expecting her first child at that time. Although Portwood Williams Sr. had far-fetched 72 years married life prior to his wife's death in 2008.

Kim was absent at her sister Kylie Jenner's colossal sweet 16 birthday party, but she had good reason to miss the celebration.

West's grandfather was laid to rest during a private service at Arlington Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Kanye's mother, Donda, is also buried in Oklahoma.

KIm tweeted on Kylie Jenner,s Birthday:
