The Royal Family took part in the Order of the Garter, the longest and oldest British order of chivalry last Monday (June 13) at the Windsor palace.

The Order of the Garter was founded by Edward III in 1348, and more than 6,000 people flocked to the Windsor castle to witness the parade and the grand display of arms. Queen Elizabeth, her sons and grandsons all took part in the parade, with the two Duchess Kate Middleton and Camilla Rosemary on standby.

The Order of the Garter only has room for 24 high ranking British members, and Prince William had the honor to become its1,000th member after 600 years. William was named member in 2008, where Kate also attended the ceremony. Other members include former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the Queen's partner Prince Philip.

Camilla and Kate stole the people's attention, wearing sophisticated coats with matching fascinator hats.
