American actress Jennifer Lawrence relived her “Hunger Games” character as the "girl on fire" for keeping the top spot on Forbes’ list of highest paid actresses.

For the second consecutive year, the “Silver Linings Playbook” star was hailed as the world’s top-earning actress for earning US$46 million (AU$60 million) pre-tax between June 2015 to June 2016. Lawrence’s earnings may have dropped from the US$52 million (AU$68 million) she earned in 2015, but the 26-year-old actress known for playing Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” franchise remained as the youngest on the Forbes’ list.

Comedian Melissa McCarthy ranked second with US$33 million (AU$43 million) pre-tax earning following the “Ghostbusters” film remake. McCarthy out-earned “Lucy” actress Scarlett Johansson, who secured the third spot on the Forbes’ list with $25 million (AU$32.5 million).

Multi-brand endorser Jennifer Aniston landed fourth on the ranking with US$21 million (AU$27.3 million) pre-tax earning. The “Friends” star is followed by Fan Bingbing, the only Chinese actress in the list known for her role in the 2014 film “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” The endorser of Chopard and L’Oreal gained US$17 million (AU$22 million) pre-tax during the scoring period.

Meanwhile, “Mad Max” star Charlize Theron ranked sixth for raking in US$16.5 million (AU$21.5 million). Recently known for her supporting role in “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” film, she is the face of Dior J’Adore perfume. The five-time Oscar nominee who plays Lois Lane in Warner Brothers’ “Man of Steel,” Amy Adams followed for garnering US$13.5 million (AU$18 million) in pre-tax earnings.

Julia Roberts landed on the eight spot on the list with US$12 million (AU$16 million). The 48-year-old “Nothing Hill” star made her 2016 comeback with the thriller “Money Monster.” Meanwhile, pregnant Mila Kunis ranked ninth with US$11 million (AU$14.3 million) earning after starring in the comedy film “Bad Moms.”

Finally, Indian actress Deepika Padukone made it to the top 10 highest paid actresses with US$10 million (AU$13 million) pre-tax earnings mostly due to her lucrative endorsements. The Bollywood actress is set to star with Vin Diesel on the upcoming thriller “XXX: Return of Xander Cage.”

“Together, the world’s 10 highest-paid actresses tallied a combined US$205 million (AU$267 million) between June 1, 2015, and June 1, 2016, before fees and taxes,” Forbes magazine said.
