Robert Downey Jr. is ready to play Tony Stark in “Iron Man 4.” The actor said in a recent interview that he is willing to do one more movie as the Marvel superhero. The producers have so far not confirmed another solo movie of the character in the next phase.

In an interview with ABC News, Downey Jr. said that he feels like he can do one more solo movie playing Tony Stark. He and some of the other actors were talking about the recently released “Captain America: Civil War” movie in the interview.

Director Joe Russo pointed out that Downey Jr. is playing a “much darker” version of Tony Stark compared to what he has played in the previous movies. Downey Jr. said that personally it is easier for him to play a character like that, rather than dealing with having a super power. The actor said that he would be quick to abuse his superpower, if he got one.

Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) praised his fellow cast member and called him a “master” of his craft. Evans revealed that Downey Jr. rewrites some of the dialogues after one take and always knows how to make a particular scene better.

Downey Jr. is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and the popularity of Tony Stark has led to many fans questioning him about “Iron Man 4.” Marvel began with the flamboyant billionaire way back in 2008 and the success of the movie led to two more sequels that were released in 2010 and 2013.

All of Downey Jr. Marvel movies have done well at the box office. However, there has been no confirmation about “Iron Man 4” before the final battle with Thanos. The confirmed movies in Marvel phase 3, apart from “Civil War,” are “Doctor Strange,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Black Panther,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “Captain Marvel” and the two part “Avengers: Infinity War” movies.
