HTC Desire 820 Mini Shows Up, Features 5-inch HD Display, Quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM And 8 MP Cam

The HTC Desire 820 was unveiled during the IFA event that was held in September. It came out as a successor of HTC Desire 816. Now, new rumours indicate that the a mini edition of the device called the HTC Desire 820 Mini is going to be rolled out soon.

The HTC Desire 820 Mini had already shown up on the Chinese edition of HTC's website but the listing was removed immediately, states Geeky Gadgets. The device has a model number of D820u and it still shows up on TMall's website. Since the listing was available for some time on HTC China website, the specifications of the device is known.

According to MyDrivers, the HTC Desire 820 Mini is quite similar on specs when compared with the original Desire 820 handset. However, it is packed with a smaller 5-inch HD display. The rear features an 8 MP camera with LED flash. The front features a 5 MP camera along with BoomSound speakers.

The details on the processor of HTC Desire 820 Mini are not known. It has a quad-core processor which offers a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. However, the model of the procesor has not been confirmed. According to iTechpost, the device may be powered by a Snapdragon 400 or 410 chipset.  It is coupled with 1 GB RAM and has an internal storage capacity of 8 GB. It supports dual SIM functionality and is powered by 2100 mAh battery. It will come preloaded with Android v4.4 KitKat

The original HTC Desire 820 is powered by Snapdragon 615 SoC that has been developed for mid-range phones. The processor has eight Cortex A53 cores, out of which four cores work at 1.5GHz and the other four works at 1GHz. It has a larger HD display of 5.5-inch. The main camera is of 13 MP whereas the front features an 8 MP camera.

After starting almost from scratch, by releasing the HTC One and HTC One Max flagship models, the Taiwanese company has become one of the best Android smartphone brands. HTC has achieved consistent sucess with its Desire line of mid-range smartphones. Hence, it has been introducing newer models like the HTC Desire 820 and the HTC Desire 820 Mini to the Desire family.
