Live by the code, die by it?

From trying to kill Dexter and herself by driving the car off into the lake to rescuing her brother again - Deb is seen to be in an all time low in the first few episodes of this very last season. Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Deborah Morgan nee Dexter's sister is honestly on her last leg - she's seen her dad take his own life after seeing what he made Dexter become and is feeling a bit like an abettor herself. So can Deb be a sister to her serial killer brother again after the complicated and turbulent relationship they've had recently?

Deb's depression has put Dexter into apathy too - his baptism in the lake or as Jennifer puts is across jokingly "head in toilet bowl dunking" has left his emotions on the raw. Dexter does what he is best at - retreating into a stone-cold apathetic shell. Can the threat of Vogel being in danger from the Brain Surgeon shock him out?

Then, there is the return of Hannah aka Yvonne Strahovski - the other (evil?) half of Dexter - is she back for love, or revenge? All Yvonne promises is that her return will be good and worth the nail-biting wait.

There are still eight episodes left to this finale, and questions are aplenty. Is Dexter not a psychopath? Is Vogel? Who is Vogel and where did she come from? Can Deb and Dexter live together again? Can Deb forgive Dexter? And finally, how will Dexter end? According to reports, it will end with a trip to the hospital. The last but one episode will feature a slew of medical personnel in the ER with an emergency room doctor, a surgeon, two nurses, two paramedics and a hospital security guard. A major character's life would have to be in jeopardy to warrant the use of 7 actors for the scene! So, does Dexter die? Or does someone else?

For a serial killer who kills serial killer - for Harry's or rather Vogel's Code or his Dark Passenger that Hannah helped him get rid off - it would make sense to go out in his brand of blaze of glory - blood spatter.
