Hilary Swank, trying to save face

Hilary Swank caused quite the furor earlier this month as she when she appeared at the 35th birthday party of Chechen dictator, Ramzan Kadyrov as part of a paid appearance.

She was not the only star to be condemned by the Human Rights Foundation for making an appearance; singer Seal, Jean Claude Van Damme and violinist Vanessa Mae completed the shameful quartet.

The first move the Oscar-winning actress made to save face was to declare that her reported six-figure fee would be donated to various charities rather than pocketed by the actress.

In an even bolder move, she has fired her manager of eight years, Jason Weinberg. It is expected that she may make further omissions from her management team, removing those that she deems responsible for making the Chechen booking.

"I deeply regret attending this event. If I had full understanding of what this event apparently intended to be, I would never have gone," said the star famed for roles in hits like "Million Dollar Baby" and "Boys Don't Cry".
