After Adam Levine revealed that legendary rocker Stevie Nicks will be teaming up with him as a mentor for his team in the upcoming season of "The Voice'" newbie judge Gwen Stefani likewise solicited the help of another rocker to be by her side while mentoring her future wards. This time the partnership goes much deeper than just a professional one as Gwen has enlisted the services of her real-life partner, Gavin Rossdale.

The No Doubt singer and her husband, Bush front man Gavin Rossdale will be teaming up in an attempt to take the title for one of Gwen's future team members in the upcoming seventh season of "The Voice." Gwen and Gavin have been married for 12 years but have rarely made an appearance together so this is a rare opportunity for fans to catch a glimpse of their dynamics together. The Official Twitter account of NBC's "The Voice" posted several tweets announcing the partnership.

The four coaches in the show select their team members through blind auditions where they make their choices based only on what they hear as they have their backs turned away from the auditioning contestants. The coaches then go on to mentor their team members throughout the competition as they compete against each other and eventually against members of other coaches' teams. Other high profile guest mentors that have appeared in the show include Taylor Swift and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

This won't be the first husband and wife appearance in the show as Blake Shelton's wife, Grammy-winning country crooner Miranda Lambert made an appearance in the show twice. In the second season she teamed up with her husband but in a surprising move in season six, she reappeared as a mentor but not for her hubby's team but for rival coach Shakira.

So far, Adam Levine has won two seasons and Blake Shelton has won three. The two coaches have dominated the show between them until Usher broke their streak last season. Aside from Usher and Shakira, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green have also been returning alternately throughout the show's six seasons.

The seventh season of "The Voice" will be featuring the two mainstay coaches, Levine and Shelton but two newbies will be brought in with Pharell Williams joining Gwen Stefani. Season 7 premieres on Sept 22 in the U.S.
