“Glee” Season 6, Episode 4, titled “The Hurt Locker” (Part 1) airs Friday, Jan. 23, on Fox. This week’s new episode features Max George of the band The Wanted. The songs of the week are from various artists, as opposed to a week ago, where the music of Alanis Morissette (“Jagged Little Pill”) and Carole King (“Tapestry”).

In the fourth episode of the final season of Glee, Sue (Jane Lynch) remains determined to crush the New Directions once and for all. Meanwhile, Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) is finding her own way to give her glee club a boost.

“Rachel tries to make a deal with Will, so that his glee club purposefully underperforms at their invitational. Meanwhile, Sue is busy meddling and hypnotizes Sam into making a move on Rachel to throw her off,” reads the network’s episode synopsis of “Glee” Season 6, Episode 4.

Will (Matthew Morrison), who is not in the previous episode, is known to have a soft spot for Rachel Berry. How far could the old mentor go to support his former student?

Sue and Sam (Chord Overstreet) are neither friends nor enemies. In this final season, however, the two are having more screentime, together with Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones). After this trio’s group hug in “Glee” Season 6, Episode 3, viewers are about to see how much control Sue has over Sam.

The operative word in Fox’s episode synopsis is the “invitational,” a school event that implies other glee clubs would be showing up. Mjsbigblog.com dishes some scoop on this gleek week’s song list and vocalists. The entertainment blog also reported Max George is playing Clint, a member of Vocal Adrenaline.

Here are the songs featured in “Glee” Season 6, Episode 4: “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks, “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton, “Rock Lobster” by B52s, and “Whip It” by Devo. The last two songs will both be performed by Clint (Max George).

Aside from the story developments above, the avid viewers of “Glee” are wondering what happens next now that Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) and Brittany S. Pierce (Heather Morris) are engaged. (The engagement unfolds in Glee 6x03.)
