Unless George R.R. Martin releases his new book, “The Winds of Winter,” before the "Game of Thrones" season 7 airs next spring, fans can only guess the fate of Jon Snow and the rest of the main characters of HBO's hit television series. After Snow's parentage was revealed and Daenerys Targaryen's fleet set sail for Westeros at the end of "Game of Thrones" season 6, reunions between family and enemies alike are looming across the Seven Kingdoms.

Is Jon Snoy a Targaryen? HBO says so!

With Snow's Targaryen lineage confirmed by the makers of "Game of Thrones," he could be the newest, if not the most legitimate, claimant to the Iron Throne. But before Snow (Kit Harington) could even discover his kingly blood, the battle for the Iron Throne must be fought and won between Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady), who ascended to the throne after King Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) fell from the Red Keep due to the burning of the Great Sept.

Before the two queens meet, Cersei reunites with twin brother and Commander of the Kingsguard Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who got back to King's Landing confused as to what happened in King's Landing while he reclaimed Riverrun for their Frey allies. Despite the twin's blood ties, fans are betting on Jaime to kill Cersei. Or will Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) do it?

Meanwhile in Winterfell, Jon becomes King in the North and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) was offered marriage by Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) which she refuses at the onset. It is unknown whether Brandon (Isaac Hempstead Wright), the Red-eyed Raven, could make it home to Winterfell before Arya (Maisie Williams) arrives from murdering Walder Frey at the Twins.

Various outlets predict Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West) will ascend to a significant role in season 7 as he studies how to fight the White Walkers through the books at the Citadel. Will he be Jon's chief maester in the North, or in King's Landing maybe? Who knows?

GOT season 7 release date still unknown

There is no announcement on the GOT season 7 release date yet, but executive producers and showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff admit that the airing schedule may be pushed back. Production of the HBO television series would likely commence later in the year since winter has arrived in the plot.

Scenes in the "Game of Thrones" series have been shot across Europe, which is currently basking in summer as of press time. The Canadian Broadcasting Company has reportedly offered Canada as an alternative shooting location for Westeros, but the GOT executive producers have yet to respond to the suggestion.
