There are rumors that Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) may soon form an alliance to take over Westeros and reclaim the Iron Islands. There are two more episodes left in Season 6 and the synopsis hinted that the two women may work together towards a common goal.

The synopsis on TV & Satellite Week stated that in the North, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) will battle for supremacy. Elsewhere in the Seven Kingdoms, the female characters will apparently rule Westeros as Season 6 draws to an end. In Episode 9, Yara and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) will finally reach Meereen, where Daenerys will admire Yara.

According to the Independent, Clarke has said that the beauty of the show includes women accepting their femininity and taking strength from it. Previously, Daenerys gave a powerful speech to the Dothraki to take over Westeros. While the Mother of Dragons ordered her army to look for a thousand ships, Yara and Theon stole their uncle’s large fleet and headed to Daenerys’ direction. Daenerys will most likely welcome Yara because she greatly needs her ships and army to overpower the attacking Astapor slavers. In exchange, she will help Yara reclaim the Iron Islands from their uncle.

ScreenCrush writes that the meeting of Daenerys and Yara is almost inevitable, based on their experiences and current needs. The two will most likely form an alliance, while other strong women also set the tone that will change the landmark of Westeros in future episodes.

Vanity Fair notes that female domination has become one of the main themes in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, including Sansa’s (Sophie Turner) plan to reclaim Winterfell, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) going against the House of Black and White, Brienne’s (Gwendoline Christie) reunion with Jaime Lannister (NikolajCoster-Waldau), Daenerys’ burning of the Khals, the political strategies of the Tyrell women and Cersei’s (Lena Headey) defiance of the Sparrows, among others. An alliance between Daenerys and Yara is almost certain to happen as the current season winds down to a close.

The next episode of "Game of Thrones," titled "Battle of the Bastards," airs on June 19 on HBO. It will also air on Foxtel in Australia.
