'Game of Thrones' season 6 updates: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau reveals there's more to Brienne and Jaime Lannister's relationship than what we see
Original air date on HBO: Sundays at 9 p.m.

There are rumors that Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) may have a romantic relationship soon in “Game of Thrones.” Viewers have been seeing some tension between the characters they could put a finger to.
In Season 3 of the hit HBO series, Jaime and Brienne developed an admiration towards each other when they traveled back home. Jaime ended up giving the female knight his precious sword and fans could only speculate on how the two could have ended up together if not for their bigger roles in the kingdom.
TVLine noted that Jaime and Brienne met again in Season 6. During an interview, Nikolaj confirmed that the two actually have a deeper relationship than mere friendship. According to the actor, there is more between the two characters and there is clearly something happening between them. However, they cannot act on their feelings, and whatever they feel can only remain in secret and never verbalized.
Coster-Waldau said that their love has less to do about their relationship, and more about their own personal journey as human beings. Everything they do is for the good of the people in their lives all the time. They have dedicated their lives protecting the people they serve, which explains why they may never be in an official romantic relationship. One of their biggest conflicts is fighting for two different sides.
During their talk in Season 6 Episode 6, Jaime and Brienne acknowledged that they have to fight each other if necessary. The actor confirmed that it is certain that the two will battle if they are left with no other choice. Brienne will obviously kill Jaime instantly if it comes to that.
Harpers Bazaar writes that, in the meantime, fans can look forward to a budding relationship between Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) and Brienne. Tormund has been giving Brienne lustful glances in the past few episodes, although the latter was responding with obvious disgust. More exchanges between that two are expected in future episodes. Considering that Jaime’s first love is Cersei (Lena Headey), Brienne might reconsider her feelings towards the wildling leader.
“Game of Thrones” airs next on June 19 on HBO. It also airs on Foxtel in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
