The injustice started when it all began. “Game of Thrones” (GoT) Season 1 saw Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) push the then little Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) off a high tower window when Bran saw Jamie and his sister, Queen Regent Cersei (Lena Headey) in an incestuous encounter.

Back at “King’s Landing,” Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) dream of marrying the prince soon becomes a nightmare as King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) turns out to be hell in the body of a man. Father Ned Stark (Sean Bean), branded a traitor, is beheaded after being tricked into believing that his life will be spared if he confesses to his crimes.

The misery has continued ever since, in “GoT” Season 2, “GoT” Season 3, “GoT” Season 4 and “GoT” Season 5. Sansa becomes a mere plaything at the hands of the Lannisters and is subjected to unbearable mental torture. But the worst came when she is forced to marry Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and he rapes her in front of “Iron Born” (pun intended) Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen).

Sansa’s sister Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) escapes but remains in disguise and keeps fleeing one place to another for a long time until she lands in Braavos and gets trained to be an assassin by the “Faceless Man,” Jaqen H'ghar (Tom Wlaschiha). In “Game of Thrones” Season 5, Arya has shown a spark of the deep hatred by the way she killed Ser Meryn Trant (Ian Beattie).

Robb Stark (Richard Madden) after a rebellion against the Lannisters is mercilessly slaughtered along with his wife and mother Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) by Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton). Bran, crippled after the fall, tries desperately to reunite with half-brother and “bastard” son of Ned Stark, Jon Snow. But fate had other things in store for him. He was absent throughout “Game of Thrones” Season 5.

[Spoiler Alert] However, Season 6 will see him come back in a big way. He has learned to control his psychic powers. His return could be a game-changer. Surely, he is waiting for his turn.

“It’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions,” 16-year-old Hempstead-Wright told the Irish Examiner earlier this year.

Can Sansa get back at the evil Boltons? Can Bran use his psychic powers to destroy the Lannisters? Will Arya be the Stark sword of revenge? Yes, “the night is dark and full of terrors.” Yes, it is a tumultuous and titanic task. But the revenge is long due. Fans would love it when the Stark family rises from the ashes once again. Then there’s Jon Snow after all. Reports suggest he is returning in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
