Oprah Winfrey found an ally in former The View host Rossie O'Donnell. Rosie defended Hollywood's talk show queen from rumours that she and her best friend Gayle King have a more than platonic relationship.

"Anything that she says, I believe, is the truth," O'Donnell told ABC News.

Rumours of Oprah's lesbianism largely focused on her friend Gayle King, the editor-at-large of O, The Oprah Magazine. The two went on a trip around the US which was aired on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

"I thought she was really great on the road trip with Gayle when they were going into the camper and she said let's spice up those lesbian rumors," O'Donnell said, although previously she was of the opinion that Oprah and Gayle has the "emotional equivalent of a gay couple."

"And no, I don't think she's gay."

Oprah has previously defended Gayle in an interview with Barbara Walters where she denied that she and Gayle are lesbians. Oprah was in tears as she described her relationship with King.

"She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person. I don't know a better person," Winfrey said of Gayle King.

Like Oprah, Gayle King has previously worked as a television news anchor and talk show host. Recently, King accompanied Oprah on her Ultimate Australian Adventure.
