It's one of these days where royalty appears to be almost human as possible. It has been reported that Queen Elizabeth has granted a "royal warranty" to AV/TV manufacturer, Samsung Electromics for its TV and AV services to the royal family. This also means that Queen Elizabeth is watching TV in her private time (gasp!).

Royal Warrants

The granting of royal warrants have been around since the middle ages. Tradesmen who have supplied different goods and services for the Royal Family have received formal recognition through the services and products they have rendered in the family. Recepients of such warrants are given the right to place a coat of arms or heraldic badge on the company holdings for the next five years. In the Britsh Monarchy official website, the description for royal warrants are as follows: "Royal warrants are granted to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services for a minimum of five consecutive years to The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales."

Samsung and The Royal Family

Korean-based manufacturer Samsung has been the official providers of TVs and AVs for the royal family since the year 2006. Samsung has provided at least 100 premium TVs and AVs for the royal family including a 24-hour service maintenance dubbed as the "royal family service team". Aside from that, Samsung also sponsors a charity cricket event that is being held by the royal family.

Getting a warrant from the royal family is something that is hard to obtain. Three members of the royal family can only give one warrant to an individual or business. This is something that Samsung can be proud of. In line with that, Samsung plans to put the Queen's coat of arms in their UK headquarters and stores. Aside from that, the royal emblem would also be incorporated in Samsung's product catalogues, UK homepages, and other official notices from Samsung.
