The impulsive behavior is also firmly connected to BMI. People who belong in the top 10% with impulsive behavior weighed an average of 24 lbs more than those who belong in the lowest 10%.

Subjects who considered themselves low on agreeableness have high potentials in gaining weight over the years. The study was publicized in the Journal of Personality and Social Pscyhology last July.

The relation between weight control and emotions begins at an extremely young age. Toddlers with low-quality emotional attachment to their mothers have high probability of becoming obese at 15 years old compared to those with strong relationship with their mothers. This finding is taken from the study conducted by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development wherein 977 children are classified as the subjects.

Nutritionists, cognitive-behavioral therapists, and diet coaches have advised not to eat too much because of strong emotions. People who tend to do this practice are told to determine the factor that triggers them to eat.
