“The Mandalorian” isn’t the only new live action “Star Wars” TV series being planned. The franchise is returning to the “Rogue One” world, as Diego Luna is set to reprise his role as Cassian Andor.

According to a report by ComingSoon.Net, Lucasfilm and Disney’s Bob Iger has announced a new live action TV series with Luna reprising his role. The TV series will be a prequel set before the events in “Rogue One.”

“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply,” said Luna.

“Rogue One” told the story of a group of Rebels who went on a dangerous mission of stealing the plans of the Empire’s super weapon known as the Death Star. The upcoming TV series will reportedly be a spy thriller with stories of espionage that is set in the years when the Rebellion was still forming.

Cassian Andor appears to be at the centre of the new TV series. Production for the show is set to begin sometime next year, which means the show may only air by 2020. The other live action “Star Wars” TV series “The Mandalorian” is already filming with a warrior as the central figure.

It will be interesting to see if any of the characters from “Rogue One” will crossover in the TV series. Some of the major characters from the film are Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker).

Another big character who is still alive in this timeline is the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
