Season 1 of “Designated Survivor” just came to an end. While a lot of viewers expected some relief from all the tension, it looks like the team behind the cameras has other things in mind. Unfortunately, it looks like viewers would have to wait a while before that major cliffhanger gets resolved. In any case, Season 1 definitely ended with, quite literally, a bang.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Designated Survivor” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

In his first few days as President of the United States, President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) went through a lot of challenges that most Presidents have not encountered during their full term of four or eight years, as the case may be. From a devastating terrorist attack, to traitors from within the walls of the White House, he also faced threats from other sovereign nations, rebellion from other leaders and a lot of other crazy hidden problems. With the season now ended, fans are anticipating what will happen next.

The “Designated Survivor” official Twitter account posted a video that teases fans with details surrounding the final episode’s cliffhanger ending. The video shows a chaotic reaction by numerous people to a gunshot that shocked the nation. The tweet is appropriately titled “Who took the bullet?”

The hour-long season 1 ender, titled “The Oath,” was spent building up on the last few minutes where the cliffhanger was shown. Where did the bullet land? What happens to Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q)? How is Aaron Shore (Adan Canto) involved? Will Peter MacLeish (Ashley Zuckerman) eventually have a change of heart? These and more are, hopefully, resolved when Season 2 comes around.

Designated Survivor” will return to ABC on March 8, 2017. It also airs on Netflix US and Netflix Australia.
