The April issue of the Cosmopolitan magazine, featuring the reality TV star Kim Kardashian has caused an upset to an Armenian group, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The Armenian National Committee of America expressed its dismay on the magazine’s issue in Turkey with Kardashian on the cover. The upset stemmed from the century-old case of Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by Turkey.

"It's disrespectful to Kim Kardashian and to all Armenians for the publishers of Cosmopolitan to use her image, without her permission, on the month we mark Turkey's genocide against the Armenian people," Armenian National Committee of America Executive Director, Aram Hamparian was quoted as telling TMZ by The Hollywood Reporter.

The Armenian group's official reiterated that the magazine must not capitalize on personalities particularly those with related to survivors of the genocide.

Hamparian stressed, "Instead of trying to turn a profit in Turkey by callously featuring a cover photo of a descendant of Armenian Genocide survivors in its April issue, Cosmopolitan should find creative ways to educate its readers about the Turkish government's shameful effort to cover up this atrocity."

The issue of the said Cosmopolitan’s Turkish edition came out weeks after the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide on April 24.

Cosmopolitan later issued a statement to TMZ explaining the magazine’s April issue.

It said: "Kim Kardashian is one of our favorite cover girls. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her for the Cosmopolitan editions worldwide."

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Kim, an Armenian-American was consequently upset over the magazine’s Turkish edition.

A source told TMZ that the “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” star, who once spoke about Armenian genocide, was upset about the magazine’s use of her image in its edition in Turkey.
