One of the things that fans of "The Vampire Diaries" look forward to in the CW TV series is the villain. Actor Chris Wood recently opened up in interviews about Malakai or Kai, the psychotic new character he portrays in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6.

Executive producer Julie Plec teased before the premiere of the TV show that a psychotic character will be introduced and cause trouble to the TVD characters. Kai made his first appearance in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 3 titled "Welcome to Paradise."

In an Entertainment Weekly interview, actor Chris Wood described his character as the most unpredictable character on the show because of how Kai's minds work. "You can't ever for a second assume that what he's done before, he's going to do again, or if he says that he's going to do one thing that he's going to come through and do it," the actor shared.

Chris Wood added that Kai may be entertaining to watch but as the show progresses, fans will be able to see where the scary side of the character will come from. Kai already showed that behavior to TVD characters Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) who also got stuck in May 10, 1994.

The Hollywood Reporter pointed out that Kai reminds the viewers of a Damon Salvatore during his early days where he does not have a care in the world. Actor Chris Wood agrees and thinks that having Kai and Damon interact will be an interesting scene in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6.

Chris Wood explained that after meeting Kai, Damon cannot deal with the fact that he has met someone just like him. "Now there's this guy he just can't break and you see it start to drive Damon crazy from the first second," Wood shared.

The actor further revealed in a TV Fanatic interview that his character is someone who likes to play games, especially with Damon. "Kai doesn't back down from Damon, and that's been a really great part to play," Wood admitted.

When asked what Kai's first move will be when he gets out of his 1994 hell, Chris Wood responded that his character is probably going to bide his time for a while before making a move on the Gemini Coven that trapped him there. "Well, we know he's not afraid to get his hands dirty," the actor teased.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
