After making headlines for performing at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show on Sunday, Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin is in the news again, this time as he opens up about ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Martin makes it to the cover story of the latest issue of Rolling Stone, which will hit the newsstands on Feb. 12. The magazine provided a sneak peek of its interview with the 38-year old musician. In addition to talking about the Super Bowl 50 act and Coldplay’s new album “A Head Full of Dreams,” Martin also shared his current relationship with Paltrow.

“I have a very wonderful separation-divorce,” Martin told Rolling Stone. "It's a divorce – but it's a weird one." His definition of the word “divorce” may also not be the same as most people perceive it to be. “I see it as more like you meet someone, you have some time together and things just move through.”

Martin and Paltrow share an interesting view about their relationship, as well as the use of word play in describing it. In March 2014, Paltrow gain media attention when she announced her separation from Martin. The fact that the couple, deemed to have an ideal relationship by fans, was splitting up was enough to make news. However, Paltrow’s choice of words to describe their situation generated a massive buzz.

On her website, Goop, Paltrow revealed that she and husband Martin are undergoing “conscious uncoupling.” The term, according to Katherine Woodward Thomas who coined it, is a kinder way of referring to divorce. It is essentially a no-drama approach to separation, one that protects the children and encourages both sides to avoid pointing fingers, the psychotherapist told The New York Times.

One year after the announcement, in April 2015, Paltrow filed for divorce to officially end their 10-year marriage. The two met at a Coldplay concert in 2002, while the band was on tour to promote their album “A Rush of Blood to the Head.” They have two children: Apple Blythe Alison, 12, and Moses Bruce Anthony, 10.
