Men and women have their own list when it comes to their preference for beauty products and services that claim to rejuvenate skin and keep it young, especially the face. To further facilitate the ever growing list, a facial bar in Chicago has added breast milk facial to its list of add-ons.

The newly added facial claims to provide an effective solution for skin conditions, including acne and eczema, with the help of lauric acid.

The mud facial bar, inaugurated in Chicago in February 2015, offers breast milk substitute as one of the add-ons for the special “breathe facial” that it offers to its customers with sensitive skin. The add-on costs an extra $10, in addition to the price of the breathe facial which is $40.

The $10 extra pampering option claims to clear the skin and make it smooth by healing the underlying skin problems. What inspired Shama Patel, the owner of the facial bar, to include breast milk facial as an add-on was the ample number of blog posts that list the benefits of breast milk.

"There are so many mommy blogs out there that talk about using breast milk to basically help with skin conditions,” said Patel, reported Fox 32. "I really wanted to come up with something that is quick, effective, that appealed to the urban city girl,” she continued.

Lauric acid in the breast milk is believed to be beneficial to the skin, especially those prone to sunburns, wrinkles, acne and eczema. Patel speculates that the add-on will be a big hit in the summer among women who wish to reduce the redness on their face due to the heat.

Patel collects the breast milk for the facial from the mums registered with a certified milk bank. The supplied milk is thoroughly scrutinised for diseases prior to its distribution, so the customers can be free of any doubts.
