Liquipel, LLC, the company responsible for the revolutionary moisture and impact resistant technology for portable gadgets, including smartphones, tablets and mp3 players, has announced that it will be introducing its WaterSafeTM nano technology to fabrics, such as clothes and accessories. Liquipel made the announcement at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.

Liquipel Managing Director Sam Winkler spoke to Popular Science about Liquipel for clothing.

"Now I'm announcing the Liquipel clothing. We're getting into fashion and function. We're able to do mass production clothing on any sort of fabric," said Winkler in the Popular Science report.

He also showed a demo of a t-shirt treated with the Liquipel WaterSafeTM nano technology for fabrics.

"I'm gonna show you this normal t-shirt here. It doesn't look any different, it doesn't feel any different. However, it can't get stained, it can't get dirty. You can see when the water gets poured on it, it stays completely dry," said Winkler in the video demo from Popular Science.

Liquipel Co-founder and head of product development Danny McPhail also spoke about the company's venture into the apparel and accessories industry.

"The ability to apply our patent-pending WaterSafeTM technology to apparel and accessories using eco-friendly and conductive inks opens up a new world to us," said McPhail in a report from YAHOO! Finance.

"We've only begun to scratch the surface of the possibilities," he added.

Liquipel for clothing is reportedly eco-friendly and has no perfluoroocanoic acids (PFOA). It incorporates the WaterSafeTM nano technology into the fabric to not only repel water, but also other liquids, which make it dirt and stain resistant as well. Plus, the said technology will not alter the fabric's appearance.

According to YAHOO! Finance, Liquipel plans to introduce its water, dirt and stain repelling technology for clothes to consumers in 2014.
