Bruce Lee Becomes A Playable Character In “Temple Run 2” For Limited Time

The father of all infinite runners gets the man who made martial arts cool as a playable character. Imangi Studios has announced that legendary martial artist and Hollywood actor Bruce Lee will be a playable character in “Temple Run 2.” Lee joins the huge “Temple Run” roster of playable characters that have also had other celebrities and athletes before him.
Playing as Lee’s character appears to have some advantages. For one, the character will spout an inspirational quote that can possibly make someone’s day, even if it’s for comedic reasons. Two quotes have been uncovered: “Defeat is a state of mind” and “A goal is not always meant to be reached.” It’s funny, because “Temple Run 2” is an endless runner, so no matter how many times a player attempts to escape the evil Demon Monkey they can’t, and if that doesn’t kill them other obstacles will.
A report from Game Informer states that the addition of Lee as a character was due to a partnership between Imangi Studios and the Bruce Lee Estate. Lee’s daughter Shannon not only approves the move to have him be in the game, she praises it as well. She states that this year would have been her father’s 75th birthday and is thankful that her father’s legacy will live on in this mobile game.
This isn’t Bruce Lee’s first video game appearance, as he also appeared in EA Sports UFC last year. The move was a controversial one for many UFC fans as many stated that Bruce Lee had never been in a competitive fight. Shannon scoffed at these comments, telling Gamespot that her father lived and breathed martial arts, while also stating that it’s a video game and fans shouldn’t take the news of Lee being a playable character there so seriously.
Mobile gamers can purchase the father of martial arts for $1, but better do so soon as Imangi Studios told Gamespot that Lee is purchasable for a limited time only. If anyone hasn’t played “Temple Run 2” yet, they can download that game for free on both iOS and Android devices.
