Penny and Leonard got engaged in the penultimate episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 7. However, these two are unlikely to tie the knot soon. Also, the writers have no plans to introduce babies in the show for now.

Speaking about the babies and the wedding, Steve Molaro, executive producer of the show, said to TV Guide: "I'm sure some fans want a wedding right away or babies or something, but most of them know ... we try to let the show grow organically, so no wedding or babies for now. We try to let the characters tell us when it's time to let these things happen."

Molaro also said that they do not "feel the pressure to hit these milestones," adding that, they have not mapped out when "certain milestones" need to play out between now and Season 10 finale of "The Big Bang Theory."

When the characters tell that it is the right time, they will go for it, according to Molaro. He also revealed to TV Guide that they are not good when it comes to planning in advance. In the past, they have changed their minds after planning something, Molaro said.

Meanwhile, in an interview taken on set the of the show, before the premiere of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8, Kaley Cuoco (Penny) said that it took seven years for Leonard and Penny to get engaged and that she does not know if these two are going to get married soon. Johnny Galecki (Leonard) added that Penny wants to prove to her mother that she is not pregnant. "Oh ya ... so night months," Cuoco teased.

The first two episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 were about Sheldon's return to Pasadena after he got robbed in Arizona, which interrupted his unusual train journey, Penny getting the job at Bernadette's company as a pharmaceutical sales representative, Howard dealing with Stuart who seemed to have permanently moved into Mrs Wolowitz's house, Howard joining Sheldon's class and Amy playing Penny against Bernadette.

Official Synopsis of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 Episode 3, which is titled "The First Pitch Insufficiency,": "Wolowitz is nervous after NASA asks him to throw out the first pitch at a Los Angeles Angels game. Leonard and Penny try to prove Sheldon wrong after he says that he and Amy are a superior couple."
