Emma Watson was finally heard singing for the 2017 film, “Beauty and the Beast,” in a new trailer. The 26-year-old British actress sings “Something More” in her blue pinafore dress, and then transformed into a fairytale princess.

Watson plays Belle in the upcoming film adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast.” She stars alongside “Downton Abbey” actress Dan Stevens (Beast) in the lead role.

Fans have also gotten a glimpse of the “Harry Potter” actress in a ballroom scene wearing Belle's signature yellow dress. The “Beauty and the Beast” trailer had also featured the town's people and Gaston (Luke Evans) trying and taking on the Beast.

In relation to Watson singing in the “Beauty and the Beast” trailer, Classic FM asked Catherine Bott, a soprano and Classic FM presenter about her views. “Within two notes it was fairly obvious to me that auto-tune had been deployed,” Bott said.

Bott has stated that she thinks Watson’s voice was fragile, but notes that there is innocence to it. “And I think we’ve lost that feeling of a live performance, when somebody’s just going for it. If there’s a bit of a mistake it doesn’t matter because it’s so exciting,” she added.

The 2017 film, “Beauty and the Beast,” also stars Josh Gad (LeFou) Stanley Tucci (Cadenza), Ewan McGregor (Lumier), Ian McKellan (Cogsworth), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette) and Kevin Kline (Maurice).

The film is under the direction of Bill Condon (“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”). Based on the trailers we have seen so far, it appears that the film will follow the original narrative, but with a twist. This time, Belle is the inventor.

“In the animated movie, it’s her father who is the inventor, and we actually co-opted that for Belle,” Watson told Entertainment Weekly.

The 2017 film adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast” is slated to hit Australian theatres on March 23.
