There may be an unexpected friendship in “Avengers 4.” In a previous interview, cast member Karen Gillan (Nebula) teased how her character will get a new best friend, while they fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin). The following article contains spoilers.

In a previous interview about “Infinity War,” Gillan teased a friendship between Nebula and another character, ComicBook.com reports. The actress had said that her character will get a new BFF, but she couldn’t reveal who that is yet.

Although Gillan was speaking about “Infinity War,” that storyline didn’t play out in the film, which means that Nebula will become friends with someone in the next film. According to the report, this new friend could be Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who has been the centre of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man will also play a key role in “Avengers 4,” as per the vision of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Nebula and Tony were last seen on the planet Titan, where they fought against Thanos. Now, the two will have to find a way to get back to Earth, and they may become friends during this journey.

The report notes that Tony is passionate about technology, and he is sure to find the cyborg Nebula fascinating. Nebula has always hated Thanos for upgrading her by putting more machines in her body to make her stronger, but Tony may show her a different way of looking at it.

Tony too has a machine inside his body, and he went through a lot of pain because of it. The two may find this to be a common ground on which they can bond and learn from each other.

The new friendships that the heroes will form in “Avengers 4” are important in the fight against Thanos. It remains to be seen how they will fix the problem the Mad Titan created in the previous movie.
