Nick Kyrgios has had a breakout year in the 2014 season. Kyrgios has earned the spotlight after defeating tennis ace Rafael Nadal in Wimbledon. Recently, the Aussie rising tennis star has been named as the new ambassador of Malaysia Airlines.

The deal between Kyrgios and Malaysia Airlines was announced on the jetliner's site on Dec. 22. "We are pleased to announce our partnership with Nick Kyrgios, the 19-year-old tennis sensation from Canberra who shot up to the 52nd in the world rankings in his stellar first full year," said in the statement. Malaysia Airlines, which had two major accidents this year, reportedly has 81 flights a week from Australia to New Zealand, in addition to more than 60 other destinations all over the world.

For a professional tennis athlete who goes through relentless travelling to play in tournaments in different parts of the world, Kygios couldn't be happier with the new partnership and was quoted as saying that having an official aircraft carrier is "as important as a good doubles partner." The 19-year-old, who is the seventh most searched Aussie on Google in 2014, also took his excitement on the new partnership to Twitter.

Kyrgios is set to kickstart his 2015 tennis season at the Hopman Cup in Perth starting Jan. 4, ABC Online reports. Afterward, Kyrgios is expected to take part in the Sydney International before competing in the first Grand Slam of 2015 at the Australian Open.

The Canberra native revealed that he is ready to carry the pressure from his breakout 2014 season. Instead of running away from the bright spotlight, Kyrgios said he has no choice but to "embrace" it. However, he admitted that it would be tough for him to really get away from the high hopes of the Australian nation, especially with the social media, but he said that there are a lot of up and coming players whom he can share the pressure with.

Kyrgios, who abruptly ended his 2014 season due to an injury on his left arm, also said that he is 100 percent fit. He said that he has been hitting normal again and feeling stronger than he was a year ago.
