Details about a new character in “Arrow” Season 5 as well as the new villain have surfaced online. The TV series is set to introduce a recurring character who has been described as a “reckless” ex-Marine. The fans will also get to know how Oliver Bratva tattoo and how he learnt to speak Russian.

[Spoiler alert]

According to a report by TV Line, the new character being introduced on the show is a reckless ex-Marine turned vigilante. Producer/writer Wendy Mericle teased that the fans may finally get to see how Oliver (Stephen Amell) got the Bratva tattoo and how he learned to speak Russian.

There will also be some insight into the scene from the pilot in which Oliver killed a man. “No one can know my secret,” Oliver said in that scene, before killing the man.

With the death of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the TV series will be introducing a new villain to take his place in “Arrow” Season 5. According to a report by TV Line, the tentative name of the new villain is Anton Church and he is a ruthless crime lord.

The new villain is said to be similar to Idris Elba’s character Russell “Stringer” Bell from “The Wire” TV series. The casting call for the character reportedly described him as an “apex predator” who “cuts his way through the shadows” by taking down “the biggest threat first.”

After a lackluster response to the recently aired season of the show, the new villain will not have any superpowers. Amell has already confirmed this in a recent interview.

Filming and production details of “Arrow” Season 5 are expected to be released soon. The show is expected to premiere in October this year. The producers have so far not committed to an exact release date. The plot of the next season is also not yet known.
