'Arrow' Season 3, Episode 10 Update: Air Date, Hints, Oliver Queen's Return Theories [Spoilers, Review]

"Arrow" Season 3, Episode 10 airs Jan. 21 on The CW, which means there is no new episode of the DC Comics-inspired show this week. The cliff and the fall in the fall finale cliffhanger (Dec. 10 episode) are driving many fans restless with theories. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is presumed to return, and a promo clip is teasing how it could happen.

There are five more weeks before the air date of Arrow Season 3, Episode 10. This mid-season premiere, titled "Left Behind," was co-written by one of the show's developers, Marc Guggenheim. Fans know that when a show boss leads the teleplay, it is a major hint that the episode is one of the bigger-than-usual kind. (See this Twitter teaser dated October 2014 from Guggenheim.)

Erik Oleson co-wrote Arrow 3x10. He also co-wrote "Corto Maltese" and "Guilty." These are episodes that tackle the death of Sara Lance, the new Thea, and Malcolm Merlyn's schemes. Glen Winter directed the episode. Winter also directed "Flash vs Arrow," which received a lot of positive reviews from fans and critics.

Arrow Season 3, Episode 10 has to be a big one. Oliver Queen gets badly injured before falling off a cliff after his battle with Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable). Many fans are convinced Ra's himself will save Oliver, while there are others who believe Maseo Yamashiro aka Sarab (Karl Yune) will drag his old friend to the Lazarus Pit, which is Ra's version of "Fountain of Youth" in the DC Comics universe.

"Left Behind," the title of Arrow 3x10, is likely to dig deeper into Maseo's past. What happened to Maseo's wife Tatsu (Rila Fukushima) and her swordfight with China White (Kelly Hu)? Oliver Queen's old friend would not have jumped ship from ARGUS to the League of Assassins without a big reason.

Incidentally, Manu Bennett is reprising his role as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in Arrow Season 3. It may be an extremely wild guess that Slade would save Oliver, but the crazed man is not yet done causing major pain for the Arrow.

What's Next in Arrow Season 3: Arsenal, Thea Queen, Felicity Smoak

Chaos is expected to rise in Starling City without the Arrow. Heroes must soar in Arrow Season 3, Episode 10. Roy Harper aka The Arsenal (Colton Haynes) has to step up while Oliver Queen is away from Starling City.

Arrow Season 3, Episodes 10, 11, and 12 will show the Arsenal in "dang gangbusters" situation, teased Guggenheim. "There's one scene in Episode 11 between [Arsenal] and John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) that I think is some of his finest work on the show," Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), the only living characters in Ollie's near-death flashes, will have more screentime together in Arrow Season 3.

"They'll be sharing quite a bit of screen time in 2015, and it's very interesting," Guggenheim told TVLine. Who tells Thea that her dad made her kill Sara Lance (Caity Lotz)?

Arrow Season 3 airs Wednesdays on The CW.
