"At the request of his family we would like to honor his memory by sharing his audition with you," The "AGT" statement read before airing Rogers’ audition.

The 29-year old doctor who practiced family medicine sang "Ribbon in the Sky" by Stevie Wonder for "America's Got Talent" season 12 judges Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Mel B. All of the judges said yes to his audition.

He was discovered by the producers of the show on Instagram where he frequently posted videos of himself singing various songs including Disney tunes and Boyz II Men singles. His video singing the group's song "On Bended Knee" was the one that caught the producers' attention.

In the special "AGT" episode, Rogers talked about why he became a doctor and how he wanted to combine his passion for medicine and music. "My inspiration for becoming a doctor was kind of born out of a pretty tough experience when I was six years old when I came home from school one day and found my mom laying in a pool of blood,” Rogers explained. “We rushed her to the hospital, the doctors were like heroes. They saved her life and it made me want to be the doctor that I am today."

He added that while being a doctor is tough, he feels that he really makes a difference. Whenever he finds work too stressful, he copes through music. "If I could find a way to combine being a doctor and medicine with music and singing that would be a dream come true," the singing doctor explained.

Unfortunately, Rogers died in a fatal car crash on June 11. His family and friends took to social media to pay tribute to him and express their condolences. Judge Mel B also tweeted about Rogers. Meanwhile, Boyz II Men wrote about Rogers on their official Instagram account. He got to perform with the band before. Check out their posts after the video featuring Rogers' audition for "AGT."

"America's Got Talent" airs in the US every Tuesday on NBC at 8 pm. Stay tuned for more updates about the talent competition.
