The new X-Factor host Caroline Flack says she once considered dating her Xtra Factor partner Olly Murs. Murs will co-host X-Factor with Flack. Though the two are very good friends now, she says she always wondered if Murs could be the Mr. Right in her life.

“There was a point when we first started working together when I thought, 'Do I? Could I?’ There’s always been a barrier where we just couldn’t ever cross that line and we never have. But we laugh about it all the time,” Flack told The Daily Telegraph in a recent interview.

However, the 35-year-old British television presenter says that she is “as single as single can be.” Flack made headlines four years ago when she dated a 17-year-old Harry Styles. There was a huge difference of fourteen years in their age and she even received hate mail from the fans of One Direction.

Flack does not regret her short romance with Styles and says she “is not going to ever apologize for it because there was nothing at the time that was serious or bad and nobody was getting hurt." Flack understands people's curiosity in the lives of celebrities and says she was also one of them. She did not feel heartbroken when she ended her relation with “Midnight Memories” singer and says they are still good friends.

Flack is currently focusing on a new stint in her career. She recently took over from Dermot O'Leary as a host for X-Factor. She also told the website that she is “really nervous about it” as she does not want to let O'Leary down. She also felt “really weird about” it because “it’s a big old space to fill - especially with someone like Dermot who’s extremely brilliant at it.” She acknowledges the fact that he is “just the best at what he does.” O'Leary stepped down after spending eight years on the show and has been “very supportive” of her replacing him.
