The erotic film “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James has made a place for her in the Sunday Times Rich List, it has been revealed. The 52-year-old is now the fourth wealthiest author in the list, thanks to her much-hyped novel and film on bondage-sex. The British author is likely to climb up the spot next year as she is in the process of making two more sequels of the film.

James and her husband have a wealth of £75 million (U.S. $114281250 approximately), the newspaper said adding that the couple has even pushed Jackie Collins to fifth place. Collins has a fortune of £65 million (or U.S. $99043750 approximately), according to Huffington Post. However, “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling remains on the number one spot with £580 million (U.S. $883386400 approximately). Rowling earns more than the combined wealth of James, Collins and other four others below her.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” film was not hit with critics but it still managed to earn a huge amount of money at the box office. In U.K. the film earned £4.6 million (U.S. $7000257 approximately) on the opening night alone. It was also the second highest grossing release of the year so far.

The film stars Jamie Dornan in the role of Christian Grey – a BDSM loving, kinky billionaire who has a dark past. He falls in love with a virgin college girl Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson) and introduces her to his world of BDSM. The film was always in news because of its nudity and other controversial BDSM scenes.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor Johnson will no longer be a part of its sequels “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” Sam said in her interview that she had ideological conflict with the author James, who wanted to shoot certain scenes in different ways. A brief 30-second teaser clip for “Fifty Shades Darker” was also released earlier that showed Jamie donning the mask on his eyes while looking into a mirror. The second installment of the film is expected to be released by February 2017.
