“Neighbours” recap

On Monday, Walter broached the idea that Nell could be the perfect bone marrow donor for Zoe. Toadie was livid with the idea and accused Walter of continuously manipulating their emotions. An argument ensued between the two men until Zoe walked in. Once Walter was alone with Sonya, he pleaded his daughter to consider his proposal. “Let me be a father to Zoe,” he said. He was reduced to tears as he tried to appeal for the life of his daughter.

Walter also assured Sonya that Nell would only have to undergo a simple test and the needle won’t hurt that much. Sonya was worried about the risks involved in the harvesting procedure. Later, Sonya was able to talk privately with her sister, which confused her even more. Sonya then discussed about the situation with Toadie and they could not meet eye to eye on things. Toadie feared that Nell might be traumatised by the whole process. Sonya, on the other hand, argued that Nell is fighting for her life. They agreed to sleep on it and talk about it again the next day. However, Sonya could not sleep and decided to call the hospital to book Nell for a tissue type test.

Meanwhile, Ben arrived home and saw a clearly worried Karl, who asked if he saw Angus. Karl said that Angus has cleared out his closet. Ben didn’t believe Angus would go that far since he didn’t have money, but then found that the busking money is gone. When Ben shared this with Aaron and Xanthe, they went ballistic over the fact that they could not pay Tom once again.

Xanthe and Ben began their search for Angus, and Ben figured out where he’s hiding: the closed Off Air bar. Angus informed the pair that he has a flight to Bali the next day. While Xanthe was talking to Angus, Ben searched through Angus’ bag to take back the money he stole. It turned out that Angus had more money, and he admitted he found it at the house. Ben said it was Karl’s. Ben lashed at him for stealing from their granddad. Angus tried to forge a deal with Xanthe and Ben – he’d split the money so they could pay off Tom, and in return they’d keep quiet about his plans.

Paige went jogging with John to take his mind off the possibility that he’s involved with the boiler explosion. Later, Steph saw them and she and Paige talked about Paul being beaten up in jail. John clearly looked uncomfortable and Steph confronted them about mentioning a conspiracy theory. Paige said they had not found any lead so far.

Later, John had another vivid flashback of the boiler room right before it exploded. At that point, Paige agreed to talk to someone about John’s memories. The next day, John met a priest at the Watering Hole to confess the crime. John explained his flashbacks to the priest and told him that he caused the explosion. The two men also discussed about Paige, who John said is his rock. The priest advised John to tell the cops everything. John heeded his advice and went to the police station.
