Angus wonders about the sudden change, and she confesses the truth about his mum’s health.

“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, Terese returned from her retreat, taking Piper by surprise. Piper tried to keep away her mother from the kitchen, where Tyler is hiding. Once Terese went upstairs to change, Tyler snuck away to leave. At Harold’s, Piper and Tyler talked about their friendship. When Piper teased him that friends do not react the way they did when Terese walked in, Tyler was forced to admit that they are more than just friends. However, they agreed not to cross any lines. Later, before going to sleep, Piper called Tyler and the two had a video chat. They first talked about Piper’s ongoing family problems. “You’re the only person I want to talk to when everything else is falling apart,” Piper revealed. She went further by saying she wants to be with Tyler all the time and she can’t stop thinking about him. Tyler replied that he feels the same way, too, but again stepped on the brakes and said they should keep everything they said hypothetically.

At home, Brad saw Ned with his bags on the living room. Ned said he’s going back to Sydney. Brad wondered when he decided to leave, and Lauren said she was the one who suggested it for the best of everyone. Brad didn’t take this well, and walked off. Later, Teresa found out about Ned and Lauren’s kiss. She approached Brad and tried to reason out with him. Brad was surprised that Terese was defending Lauren. Terese said the kiss wasn’t worth ruining Brad’s relationship with Lauren and with Ned. Terese also brought up the fact that they already lost a son. She advised Brad not to let his anger and pride take over him that could lead to him losing another one.

When Brad returned home, he saw Ned still packing his stuff. Brad wondered how Ned developed feelings for Lauren, and Ned replied that she made him feel like he belonged there. “I didn’t mean to, but I started falling for her,” Ned admitted. He also revealed that he kissed Lauren when he thought Brad was discarding her for Terese. Brad asked Ned to stay close, but Ned said he can’t because he still has feelings for Lauren. Ned, however, assured that Lauren was just being kind to him and that she loves Brad. “She’s the one you should be fixing things with, not me,” Ned said.

Outside, Ned bid his farewells to Paige and Piper. Brad also went out to properly say goodbye to his son and told him he’s always welcome to come back. The two hugged as Lauren looked on. Later, Brad and Lauren talked about the incident once again, and Brad said if Terese could forgive them before, maybe he should cut them slack as well.

At jail, Paul asked Gary to protect him from the other inmates. Gary scoffed at the idea, saying that Paul’s the reason why he’s in prison. The two talked about Xanthe and Gary’s family and he seemed to have softened to Paul. But when Paul repeated his request, Gary said he doesn’t want to stir up any more trouble for himself there. Refusing to give up, Paul called Sheila up and asked her to convince Gary to watch over him. Sheila went to visit Gary, but the two ended up arguing. Gary told Sheila to focus on Xanthe – he could take care of himself and Paul. However, Paul didn’t have much time enjoying his newfound protection – Gary informed him that he’s been granted parole and he’s now a free man. “Good luck,” Gary wished him before walking away. Paul looked deathly terrified as the other inmates surrounded him, ready to attack.
