English Premier League's Arsenal are frontrunners in acquiring Barcelona B striker Tonny Sanabria.

The 17-year-old's representatives have reportedly held talks with their counterparts from the North London club on Wednesday, according to The Daily Mail.

The Gunners may beat rivals Serie A side AS Roma in January, should they agree to pay the £2.5million release-clause.

Despite his tender age, Sanabria already has 3 senior caps on his resume, and would most definitely thrive under Arsene Wenger's watch, who has a keen sense of spotting potential in young players.

The opportunities upfront at the Emirates are limited at the moment, with the French mentor opting to play a single striker, but the Paraguayan's chances of breaking into the first-team are more realistic with Arsenal.

A switch may see the "jewel" of the Barcelona academy follow the footsteps of former Gunners skipper and La Masia standout Cesc Fabregas, as far as establishing himself as a world-class player is concerned.
