The original Redmi Note from Xiaomi will soon get replaced by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Today, a leaked image of the successor model has surfaced which shows the upper rear side of the phablet. According to GSMArena, couple of weeks ago, leaked images of rear panel of the Redmi Note 2's had cropped up.

Here is the alleged image of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. The rear panel images that came up in the past weeks and the one that was revealed today are quite different from each other. Hence, GSMArena doubts the authenticity of both the images and it even goes on to claim that the device in the picture may be another device from Xiaomi.

According to previous rumours, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 615 chipset which will feature an octa-core processor. PhoneArena states that instead of Snapdragon SoC, the handset may feature a MediaTek MT6595 processor. The processor will be supported by 2GB of RAM.

Like the predecessor model, the Redmi Note 2 will also support two SIM cards. It will house a 5.5-inch display screen that supports full HD resolution. According to the rumours, the handset features a 13 MP camera. However, today's leaked image has an unclear inscription about the resolution of the camera. It does not clearly mention a 13 MP but it appears more like 8 MP camera. Again GSMArena claims that the handset in the picture may be a different device or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 may feature an 8 MP instead of the rumoured 13 MP camera.

The Redmi Note 2 is powered by a 3500 mAh battery. GSMArena states that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be priced at CNY 1499 which is equivalent to 245 dollars.

The leaked image appears quite different from the original Xiaomi Redmi Note. There may be a possibility that Xiaomi may launch the Redmi Note 2 with a completely revamped design, states PhoneArena.
