Up till now, the hard drive was only included in the Xbox 360 special edition The owners of Microsoft gaming console limited for space may now have a choice.

Xbox is now no more just a one hundred percent gaming-only console. Microsoft has one of the further advanced tenders on the market with the Xbox 360 as the home entertainment hubs are now on the go.

The console does not only support games, but also comes with additional features of online services like HD movie streaming and media storage. Consumers may find themselves running out of disk space for certain media files occupying large space on the built in hard drives.

The Xbox 360 has always been experiencing a drawback in this area as their rival Sony PS3 provides a relatively easy transition for those who want to upgrade the build in HDD.

The special edition Xbox 360 had been dropped out by Microsoft in line with AAA game releases such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction themed Xbox's all supporting a 250GB HDD.

Microsoft Australia has announced the sale of the 250GB HDD as a separate item yesterday. It will be available for a price of AU$ 199.99. It might not be the best deal on the market, but it certainly does include an 'official Microsoft product' sticker.

As an advantage, it also includes the data migration kit to easily copy one's existing files.
