It’s long been speculated that “X-Factor UK” co-hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs may not return to the show in 2016 after a series of blunders on the program. If show bosses and Simon Cowell agree, rumored couple George Shelley and Ferne McCann could be replacing the presenters.

Shelley blurted out during an interview with the Daily Star that he and McCann, 25, would make good TV hosts. He said they “could totally be the next Olly and Caroline.”

“I would love to be a presenter on TV or radio. Ferne and I have similar aspirations. We both want to present and we would work really well together, I think,” he said.

Shelley admitted that he is willing to sacrifice romance with his fellow “I’m A Celebrity” star for the sake of his career. The 22-year old said they would be like Murs and Flack, who, despite rumors of their romance, have not slept with each other.

“I heard Caroline say once that the secret to her and Olly’s career is that they never slept together. So if Ferne and I did want a career together presenting or anything, we just want to make sure we don’t rush into anything that could spoil that,” Shelley further told the Daily Star.

The Union J singer likewise expressed his interest to host the “X-Factor UK” during an interview with Metro UK. Shelley also mentioned that Murs and Flack’s career as show presenters on the ITV show has been successful, because they “never had sex” together. He takes it as a hint for him and McCann to follow to see if they would make great work mates.

In the same interview, Shelley revealed that aside from TV presenting, he is also interested in acting. The 2015 “I’m A Celebrity” runner-up revealed he’s already been offered a couple of exciting roles but didn’t share any further details.

However, in case he and McCann get the chance to host the “X-Factor UK,” he already has a code name in mind for their team up. Shelley said the name “Gerne” (from George and Ferne) has a “wicked” sound to it.
