World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Randy Orton has recently learned from doctors that he won’t be requiring a surgery on his neck which could quicken the wrestler’s comeback into WWE television. Orton is still nursing a shoulder injury which he suffered last year.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported last November that Orton would require a surgery on his neck after he recovered from his shoulder injury and WWE legend Ric Flair also hinted about it on his podcast.

Last week, Orton had a meeting with his doctors where he was informed that the neck surgery would not be required at the moment and the RKO specialist could concentrate on recovering for his WWE return, according to F4WOnline.com.

Orton took to his Instagram account to hit out at Dave Meltzer blaming him for spreading “gossip.”

“I see many of you think I need neck surgery. I heard weeks ago that Meltzer stated it as a fact. I don’t keep up with gossip, so I didn’t think anything of it. Remember, unless you hear about it on WWE.com, you really should take everything you read online concerning pro wrestling with a grain of salt.” Orton said.

Although Meltzer does get an occasional story wrong, most of his information is correct and this could be the result of a wrong source.

WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the year WrestleMania is knocking on the doors and the company requires its biggest superstars to feature in the event. However, speculations suggest that Orton is still not in WWE’s plans for the upcoming Mania 32 on April 3, 2016.

Given the company’s history, it won’t be surprising if Orton makes a surprise return at the event. He is one of the most popular superstars amongst the fans after John Cena. It will create a massive “pop” within the crowd if Orton’s music hits out in the arena.

According to sources, mid-March to May 2016 might be the possible return date of the Viper.
