WorleyParsons Ltd has cut a deal to supply engineering services for Brazilian iron ore mining company Vale's S11D project near Sao Paulo in Brazil.

The Australian engineering group is part of a consortium with SNC-Lavalin that has been granted the cost reimbursable contract for the 90 million tonne per annum processing facility.

"This award from Vale reflects confidence in our global project execution capabilities and we are looking forward to the successful delivery of this important mega project to help Vale realize its business goals," WorleyParsons chief executive John Grill said in a statement.

WorleyParsons will provide engineering for the modular ore processing facilities, procurement support, construction management and supply key project management professionals.

The agreement would be the cornerstone of the company's operations in Brazil, according to WorleyParsons chief executive John Grill. The CEO did not disclose the value of the contract.

Canadian engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin's services involve infrastructure and overland conveying facilities, civil works, electromechanical assembly, and collaboration for procurement, construction and project management support.
