Dialogues between representatives of the Community and Public Sector Union and the Customs and Border Protection officials over wage issues resumed on Thursday as work stoppages are scheduled to take place in different airports across the country.

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service released a timetable of the wildcat strikes that will take place on Oct. 13.

Sydney International Airport - 7 to 8 am, 9 to 10am and 7 to 9pm

Melbourne International Airport 7 to 11am and 9pm to 1am
Brisbane International Airport - 6:30 to 10:30am and 5:30 to 9:30pm
Adelaide International Airport - 7:30 to 11:30am
Perth International Airport - 2 to 6pm and 11pm to 3am
Darwin International Airport - 3:30 to 5:30am and 5 to 7pm
Gold Coast International Airport - 7 to 9am and 5 to 7pm

Cairns International Airport - 11am to 1pm and 7 to 9am

Another notice of industrial action was filed by the CPSU on Oct. 20.

Earlier, majority of customs personnel has thrown out the proposed Custom and Border Protection Enterprise Agreement for 2011 - 2014.

Employees are not keen on the 3 percent salary hike being offered by the federal government claiming that it is not sufficient amid the increasing cost of living.

However, Jan Dorrington, acting deputy chief executive officer for Customs and Border Protection expressed confidence that an accord will be reached soon that is in consonance with the guidelines set by the Australian Government Employment Bargaining Framework.

The protest actions will definitely result in flight delays and inconvenience among passengers that is why preparations have been put in place to minimize interruptions to travelers.
