"Winds of Winter" is the long awaited sixth book in "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series by George R. R. Martin. Fans of the series have been waiting for news about the release date of the upcoming book, but the author has so far not confirmed an exact date. Here is a look at what the fans predict will happen next in the book. [Spoiler Alert]

The character in focus is Davos Seaworth. He has so far managed to escape death many times and recently had a narrow escape in "A Dance with Dragons." In the book, Lord Wyman Manderly had promised to accept Stannis as his king if Davos was able to bring back one of Ned's sons.

It was revealed that Davos would have to travel to the island of Skagos, believed to be inhabited by cannibals, to find one of Ned Stark's sons. Some of the members of Westeros forum believe that he will find Rickon Stark on the island and will try to bring him back. Will Davos find Rickon in "Winds of Winter."?

With Ramsay Bolton married to "Arya Stark," Stannis would need one of Ned Stark's sons to get the loyalty of the people in the north. Some of the members of the forum believe that a time may come when Davos will have to choose to support either Stannis or Rickon.

Some of the members of the forum believe that Davos, who has lost some of his sons and Rickon, who has lost his father, will develop a bond while they journey back to Stannis. If the people of the north support Rickon as the new king of the north, then Davos will have to choose between Stannis and Rickon in "Winds of Winter."

Apart from a possible father-son bond between Davos and Rickon, another aspect that may push the former to betray his king is if Melisandre requires another sacrifice. Davos has made his displeasure of using such magic clear before and had also gone to the extent of smuggling King Robert's bastard son to save him from Melisandre.

Will Rickon Stark emerge as an important character in "Winds of Winter"? One of Stannis Baratheon's strongest supporters has been Davos, but will he have to choose between the two? Stannis has to fight an important battle against the Boltons and the Freys in the coming book and will need the support of the people of the north in order to win.
