Microsoft has just announced Windows Phone 8 and its pending release in the market. Microsoft also announced the different smartphone manufacturers that would carry Windows Phone 8 in their smartphone models and these companies include Nokia, HTC, Huawei, and Samsung.

Nokia and Windows Phone 8

One of the companies that included Windows Phone in their line of smartphones is Nokia. Before Windows Phone 8 was announced, Nokia has already included Windows Phone 7 to Nokia Lumia 900. After Windows Phone 8 was announced, Nokia stated that Nokia Lumia 900 would not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8 because the Microsoft's recent OS is not based on Windows CE anymore. The next best thing that Nokia can do is to upgrade it to Windows 7.8 and incorporate some of the Windows 8 features in their smartphone.

Kevin Shields, the senior VP for Nokia expressed the same sentiment in his statement saying ""We're going to keep investing in Windows Phone 7 and continuing to grow the Windows Phone ecosystem for quite some time. I expect application providers to release apps that run on both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8." Despite this improvement, Microsoft has certainly put Nokia in an "awkward" situation because they are not able to incorporate the latest updates for Nokia users who invested in Microsoft's OS.

HTC and Huawei

Other smartphone manufacturers that already indicated their plans of having a Windows 8 phone are HTC and Huawei. So far, the feelings expressed by these companies are positive. Here are their released statement over Windows Phone 8:

"HTC is committed to Windows Phone more than ever and we are excited to be bringing new Windows Phone 8-enabled smartphones to customers later this year. With the introduction of Windows Phone in 2010, Microsoft initiated a new powerful mobile ecosystem with a consumer experience that was both unique and user friendly." - Peter Chou, CEO for HTC.

"2012 is building up to be a great year for Huawei. Now, we are poised to end the year with a big bang-with the introduction of our first smartphone running on the Windows Phone platform". - Shao Yang, Chief Marketing Officer for Huawei.

ZTE and Samsung

ZTE and Samsung was also announced as one of the companies that would be involved in incorporating Windows 8 Phone in their company. So far, both companies have not yet disclosed any information or future plans regarding this matter.
