Mariah Carey was criticised for her current live performance of the Christmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony of the Rockefeller Center in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.

While Carey is known for doing pre-taped performance, she failed to show up to do the same for the said event. She reportedly left her crew for three hours in the cold rain while talking to her lawyer on the phone about her estranged husband Nick Cannon.

After her widely criticised “All I Want For Christmas Is You” performance, Carey took to Twitter to apologise to all who showed up at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony claiming that the situation was beyond her control. She tweeted, “You know that I would never want to disappoint you.”

Wearing a red gown, Carey sang “All I Want For Christmas Is You” live while a group of kids dance behind her. The aired version of the performance has a band accompaniment. However, a video of her unedited isolated vocals was leaked, which shows Carey apparently struggling with her whistle register as she has difficulties hitting the notes.

This is not the first time Carey was criticised for her performance. She was also slammed after a video of her “Elusive Chanteuse Show” tour in Japan was leaked in October.
