“Until Dawn” has redefined the horror genre with its own take on decision-based video games. The title featured a unique butterfly effect mechanic, which gave way to a lot of events and endings that varied from player to player. New reports claim that “Until Dawn” will see new light with an upcoming title that will utilise the PlayStation VR.

A new DLC, titled “Until Dawn: Rush of Blood,” has been revealed at Sony’s Paris Games Week, PlayStation Lifestyle reports. Unlike the previous title, “Until Dawn: Rush of Blood” will be geared toward the usage of Sony’s PlayStation VR. This is one of the first confirmed PlayStation VR AAA titles.

Simon Harris, the executive producer of “Until Dawn,” further detailed the upcoming title at PlayStation Blog. According to him, the gameplay of “Until Dawn: Rush of Blood” varies greatly from its predecessor as instead of a third-person exploration game, the DLC will be a fast-paced arcade-style shooter. However, it does retain some of the figures from “Until Dawn” like the mask clown and what appears to be a Wendigo, as seen in the trailer below.

“When we first started working on Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, we were still in the middle of development on Until Dawn, but it was clear to us that the world and characters we were creating would be perfect to expand into new experiences. As we established compelling gameplay for VR, we were able to combine that with a journey through many familiar aspects of Blackwood Pines, but from a horrifying new perspective!” said Harris.

Harris added that “Until Dawn: Rush of Blood” will be an entirely new experience for gamers. The trailer shows a shooter that is similar to classic arcade games like “House of the Dead” but with high-definition graphics and the setting of “Until Dawn.”
