90's trip hop icon, Massive Attack, is set to provide music for the Australian showing of King Kong the musical.

Jungle fever is set to hit the land down under as the preparations for the musical staging of King Kong takes place. Together with French electro powerhouse, Justice, the English act, Massive Attack, will lay down the "dream-like" soundscapes for the larger-than-life theatrical event.

The Avalanches and Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja, or more known as "3D," has yet to reveal his plans for the musical. Co-scorer, Justice, released a statement that King Kong is "the perfect match" for their brand of electronic music.

"It has a very theatrical and epic feel." shared Justice's Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay in a post by InTheMix.com.au.

Another celebrated act that will contribute to the mind-blowing score is Marius DeVries, whose illustrious career as a producer includes working with other 90's trip hop heavy-hitters, Bjork, and Sneaker Pimps.

King Kong will open on October 7th, and is set for a 3-month rum at the Regent Theatre. The musical is brought by Sydney-based Global Creatures, the group responsible for Walking With Dinosaurs "Arena Spectacular."

Massive Attack made global acclaim with their 1998 record, Mezzanine, with hits such as Angel, Dissolved Girl, and worldwide trip hop anthem, Teardrop. Their latest album, Heligoland (2010), featured collaborations with the industry's most celebrated vocalists including Guy Garvey (Elbow), Damon Albarn (Blur), and Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star).
